How Do I Apply for My Homestead Exemption?
Application: The St. Tammany Parish Assessor requests that you apply in person, either at the St. Tammany Parish Justice Center in Covington or the Tower Building in Slidell. You must bring a recorded copy of the Act of Sale. This copy will include the conveyance numbers (number of the book and page on which the sale is recorded at the Office of Conveyance). You will typically receive it by email from the title company.
Renewal: Once you have received your initial exemption, the annual renewal process is handled by mail. Renewal notices will be mailed for the following year's exemption.
